Kindredly
A calmer, private web for families, with kid-friendly browsing, private sharing and end-to-end encryption.
Kindredly is a family-focused browser and start page from ThetaSet, a public benefit corporation. It started as something for our own kids: a quieter corner of the internet where families can collect and share the sites, videos and notes they love, without ads, feeds or third-party tracking.
Some of what it does:
- Library mode. Kids browse the sites and videos their family has approved or shared with them.
- Content filtering and time limits that can favor learning over entertainment.
- Optional AI approvals. Kids’ requests that fit the family’s guidelines can be approved automatically.
- Calmer YouTube, with no comments, Shorts or recommendations.
- End-to-end encryption for family content and usage reports.
Kindredly is available on the web, as a browser extension, and on iOS and Android. There’s also an open-source personal edition of the server you can self-host with Docker.
